INTRODUCTION:
ERIRO under its Education Component conducted capacity building training for Teachers in Buvuma, participants included both Trained teachers and Teaching Facilitators from Tome Education Centre and St Mary’s Primary School Katuba on Buvuma Island. The primary focus was on enhancing educational practices and skills to empower educators in the pursuit of improved student outcomes.
OBJECTIVES:
⦁ To strengthen the teaching capacities of educators at Tome primary school.
⦁ To foster collaborations and knowledge-sharing between Tome primary school and St Mary’s primary school.
⦁ To contribute to the overall improvement of Education on Buvuma Island.


ACTIVITIES:
⦁ WORKSHOP AND TRAINING SESSIONS:
Engaged teachers in comprehensive workshops covering modern teaching methodologies, classroom management, and effective use of educational resources.
⦁ PEER LEARNING AND COLLABORATION:
Facilitated collaborative sessions where teachers from Tome primary school interacted with counterparts from valuable exchange of ideas and experiences.
⦁ PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATIONS:
Implemeted practical demonstrations of innovative teaching techniques, encouraging teachers to incorporate interactive and experiential learning in their classrooms.
⦁ RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION:
Distributed educational materials, including books, teaching aids, to support teachers in their day-to-day activities.
